Dear Policy Patriot, Do you know what the Independent Payment Advisory Board is? It's a provision of ObamaCare -- allowing for a 15-member board of unelected bureaucrats who will make legislative proposals to Congress regarding changes in Medicare reimbursement in order to reduce spending. Here's the kicker -- the proposals become law even if Congress does not adopt the board's recommendations. The Department of Health and Human Services must implement them unless Congress adopts other measures that achieve the same level of savings within a certain time period. What does this mean for you and me? It means everyone on Medicare will be held hostage to 15 unelected people whose main concern is to save money, not lives, while effectively sidestepping our democratic process. Get the word out to your friends on Medicare -- this is what they have to look forward to if something is not done about ObamaCare. Thanks for your support! Richard W. Walker Chief Operating Officer
